- SynopsisIn 1943, rumours circulate that the Germans are about to deport the entire population of 7,500 Danish Jews. Jewish jazz guitarist Arne Itkin decides that he must flee Copenhagen with his wife Miriam and their five year-old son Jakob, to seek sanctuary in Sweden. Aided by a church pastor and the underground resistance movement, they set out on a journey for the fishing village of Gilleleje, where refugees await passage to Sweden by boat. But with the Gestapo and Nazi collaborators on their track, the family takes a huge risk by relying on the help of strangers whose allegiance and motives are not always clear. (Synopsis)
